"My business card proves that I could successfully leverage my MBA. Also, my company has started a program (I am responsible for) for the complete renewal of its operations, based on kind of what I was writing in my thesis."

Final Thesis: Your own business project

By the end of the EMBA program you will be able to apply what you have learnt to your company, and elaborate your own business project. You will raise your own questions, decide on methods can be used, and by a comprehensive analysis conclude to your own recommendations. The summary of that business project called Thesis, depending on its topic, may be prepared in two different ways.

  • Classical Thesis: the type of thesis commonly used at Master’s level, 40-60 pages in length, the requirements of which regarding the structure, content, and form are specified in the following Thesis Guide in detail.
  • Case-Thesis: This kind of thesis is built on a case study / case studies. It consists of two main parts. The first textual part is an Executive Summary, app. 15-20 pages in length, in which the hypotheses of the author are expounded and the main conclusions are summarized, similarly to an essay. The second part of the thesis is a draft of a presentation containing 40-60 ppt slides. Apart from the texts and comments the slides should contain images, pictures, charts, diagrams, and other illustrations used in presentations. Regarding the quality, reference and other requirements, the Case-Thesis should meet the general requirements stipulated in the Thesis Guide.

The difference between the two types is expressed by the method the topic is worked up by. The first kind of thesis is recommended for those who, relying on the literature and surveys of questionnaires, draw up their hypotheses, aiming at a certain synthesis.

The Case-Thesis is offered for those who would undertake the detailed analysis of the operation of one or more companies, and wish to present mostly their own statements and conclusions with the help of substantial illustration materials (images, cuttings, figures, etc.) which can be more easily presented in ppt slides than in a traditional .doc format.

The knowledge of the literature is essential in the Case-Thesis type as well, but the summary and critical analysis of the literature in a separate chapter is not required.

The form of the thesis is finally approved by the thesis supervisor.
